About Only In Thailand When the acting Thai government was overthrown in a coup d'etat in September 2006, tanks rolled onto the streets of Bangkok, many with yellow ribbons attached as a sign of loyalty to HM The King and the desire for a peaceful transition of power. While new expatriates and foreign governments nervously monitored events, Thais and tourists alike soon took to the streets with food and flowers for the soldiers, taking fun and friendly pictures with them in front of the tanks. As some have since said, this could only happen in Thailand! (This description appears on the back of the card.)
